For eight days, we're trading the everyday for Andean peaks, ancient stone, and a slower kind of luxury, the kind where a chef cooks just for your group, a weaver shows you her craft, and a vintage train carries you toward one of the most extraordinary sights on earth. We'll wander Lima's coastal bluffs and colonial courtyards, settle into the Sacred Valley for a couple of days of real breathing room, and wind our way up to Cusco's cobblestone streets and Incan foundations. And then, the moment this whole trip is built around: a champagne-and-linen-tablecloth train ride aboard the Belmond Hiram Bingham, gliding through the Andes toward Machu Picchu.
