Why Carry On?

At Lois & Claire we wholeheartedly advocate for using only a carry-on when embarking on one of our travel adventures, or any for that matter. Here are the top reasons why you should carry on too!

1.

Freedom and Convenience: Traveling with a carry-on allows you to experience the freedom and convenience of having all your essentials within arm's reach. No more waiting at baggage claim, worrying about lost luggage, or lugging around heavy suitcases. With a carry-on, you can navigate airports, train stations, and city streets with ease and efficiency.

2.

Versatility in Outfits: By carefully selecting versatile pieces, you can create a multitude of totally killer outfits without sacrificing space. Choose a color palette that allows for mix-and-match combinations, and pack items that can be dressed up or down, such as a little black dress, a pair of well-fitted jeans, and a few tops that can be layered or accessorized differently. With some creative styling, you'll be amazed at how many different looks you can create with a limited wardrobe. We believe these white pants can be your #1 wardrobe staple all summer, they are heavy enough that they are not see through but light enough to be cool and soooooooo comfy, trust us you will not be sorry.

3.

Travel Staples: When packing a carry-on, it's crucial to focus on essential travel staples that will cover all your needs. Here are a few key items you should consider:

  • Comfortable and versatile shoes: Opt for a pair of stylish walking shoes that can be worn with different outfits. This way, you can explore new destinations without compromising on style or comfort.

  • Travel-sized toiletries: Pack travel-sized versions of your favorite toiletries to save space and comply with airline regulations. Look for multi-purpose products that can serve multiple functions, such as a moisturizer with SPF or a tinted lip balm that doubles as a blush.

  • Lightweight accessories: Accessories are a fantastic way to elevate your outfits while taking up minimal space. Consider packing a statement necklace, a versatile scarf, or a pair of earrings that can transform a simple outfit into something chic and stylish.

  • Packable outerwear: Depending on your destination, pack a lightweight, packable jacket or cardigan that can be easily folded and stored in your carry-on. This will keep you prepared for changing weather conditions without sacrificing valuable space.

4.

Efficient Packing Techniques: Maximizing space and organization is key when traveling with a carry-on. Here are some packing techniques that will help you make the most of your limited space:

  • Roll, don't fold: Rolling your clothes instead of folding them not only saves space but also helps prevent wrinkles. This technique allows you to fit more items in your carry-on while keeping everything neat and accessible.

  • Utilize packing cubes: Invest in packing cubes or small pouches to keep your belongings organized and easily accessible. Categorize items like underwear, accessories, and electronics into separate cubes, making it a breeze to find what you need without rummaging through your entire bag.

  • Wear your bulkiest items: To save even more space, wear your bulkiest shoes and clothing items on the plane. This includes your jacket, boots, or even a chunky sweater. Not only does it save valuable space, but it also keeps you cozy during your flight.

We saved our favorite tip for last....

Make sure to pack a collapsable, easy to pack, tote bag in your carry-on. This is perfect to throw dirty laundry into and any liquids you may purchase. You can also check this bag on your way home if you over indulged and bought too much. This is the easiest way to make sure you can easily bring home any new souvenirs. We love this bag for this purpose.

At Lois & Claire, we say: pack light, pack smart, and embark on your next adventure without the burden of excess luggage. Bon Voyage!
